The practice is highly specialized, partner-driven, and engaged in complex, intellectually demanding work involving multinational families and businesses.


Position Summary

The firm is seeking a junior associate with a demonstrated interest in corporate & international tax and cross-border planning. This role is designed for candidates at the early stage of their careers who have strong academic credentials and relevant exposure to cross-border business and international tax concepts.

The associate will work closely with partners and gain hands-on experience in sophisticated international matters, with meaningful responsibility from the outset. The firm is open to both U.S.-trained candidates and foreign-trained lawyers with a U.S. LL.M. in Taxation, particularly where the candidate brings strong international exposure and cross-border perspective.


Core Qualifications

Required:

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school or foreign law degree (LL.B./J.D. equivalent) and an LL.M. in Corporate/Taxation/International Tax from a U.S. institution
  • Bar admission in a primary jurisdiction in the United States (ex. New York, California) 

Preferred:

  • Dual professional qualifications (U.S. and foreign)

Plusses:

·      Florida Bar Admission

·      Proficiency in Spanish 


Preferred Background / Exposure

  • Academic or internship exposure to U.S. international tax concepts (e.g., Subpart F, GILTI, foreign tax credits, treaty principles)
  • Coursework or familiarity with cross-border estate planning, trusts, or corporate structuring
  • Experience through internships, clinics, or prior roles in law firms, accounting firms, or international organizations

  • Professional fluency in English; Spanish or Italian is a plus


Role and Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal and tax research on business, international tax, and cross-border planning issues
  • Assist in the preparation of memoranda and client-facing materials
  • Support structuring of international investments, entities, and trusts
  • Assist with drafting legal documents (trust agreements, corporate documents, and internal memoranda)
  • Take an active role in managing assignments, including anticipating next steps and identifying planning opportunities
  • Collaborate directly with partners and coordinate with foreign counsel and advisors
  • Contribute to the development of the firm’s network, including maintaining relationships with peers, alumni, and international contacts
  • Participate in relevant professional events, bar associations, and international tax forums


Professional Development and Initiative

Associates are expected to actively build and maintain a network of professional contacts, including peers, alumni, and international advisors. Over time, this is intended to contribute to both the associate’s growth and the firm’s broader relationships and client development efforts.


Compensation

  • Base salary: $100,000 – $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Structured salary progression tied to performance, professional development, and contribution to the firm's growth and client development
  • Discretionary performance bonus (typically 10%–25% of base for strong performers)
  • Benefits package included

This role offers early, direct involvement in the full lifecycle of complex cross-border matters, from initial structuring conversations through implementation. Associates will work closely with partners providing hands-on learning. Over time, this path is designed to build not just technical fluency, but the professional judgement and client relationships.
