Duties
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focused on academic advising, behavioral health, and social-emotional learning.
- Develop tailored intervention plans to support students facing mental health or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies such as child protective services and social workers to ensure holistic student support.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to identify student needs and track progress over time.
- Manage conflict resolution and conflict management strategies within classrooms or peer groups to promote a positive learning environment.
- Provide crisis intervention and child welfare guidance in accordance with school policies and child safety protocols.
- Facilitate workshops on cultural diversity counseling, childhood development, and mental health awareness to foster inclusive school culture.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children or students in educational or social work settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in behavioral health, mental health counseling, and childhood development principles.
- Background in special education or experience supporting students with diverse learning needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, teachers, and community partners.
- Experience managing classroom behavior or implementing behavior management strategies in school settings.
