Software Development Engineer in Test

SDET Automation Engineer designs and builds test automation for multiple global development teams, developing solutions using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

The SDET Automation Engineer will design and build innovative digital solutions to production. This role will collaborate with the SDET Automation Lead, developers, product owners, manual testers, and architecture in ensuring thorough, efficient, and quality testing. This person will also coordinate project-level automation testing and strategy for multiple R&D projects, both new and in-flight. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and build automation testing efforts for multiple agile teams which includes internal teams and vendors
• Strategizes in shifting from manual to automated testing
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and manual testers to determine automation strategy, including identifying what should be automated.
• Provide automation test estimates for all automation work
• Follow company Automation testing standards
• Ensure proactive communications to leadership and functions within and outside of IT
• Create metrics and dashboards utilizing Azure DevOps to provide insights into automation activities
• Help ensure teams execute ideal automation testing where testing starts with the developer and the tester is part of the development
• Drive the constant goal of continuous improvement in quality and efficiency
• Ensure thorough automation testing on risks and dependencies within the projects and programs
  
  

Education and Experience

• B.S. or higher with 5 years working in software testing including manual testing
• Hands-on DevOps Test Automation on tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright. BDD Tools like Cucumber. Mobile Test Automation tools/solutions such as Appium
• Working in Pet Health, Clinical Diagnostics, and/or a regulated environment is a plus

• Experience and knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Proven track record of delivering successful automation solutions in a predictable and timely manner
• Experience working with multiple teams and ARTs in parallel
• Creative and enthusiastic for doing what it takes to delight our customers
• Ability to understand technical requirements
• Desire to learn the domain and grow in their career, along with promoting the growth of QA skills across the department
• Proven track record of identifying risks in software and defending user experience
