Our client is a well-established and highly respected structural steel fabricator delivering complex commercial construction and data center projects across the United States. With a reputation for quality, precision and on-time delivery, they partner with leading general contractors and developers on some of the country's most demanding structural steel projects.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Detailing Manager to lead their detailing department and oversee the successful delivery of fabrication models and drawings from project award through to fabrication.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the structural steel detailing department across multiple commercial and data center projects.
- Oversee the production, review and approval of Tekla Structures models, shop drawings and erection drawings.
- Manage internal detailers and external detailing subcontractors to ensure project schedules are achieved.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Fabrication Managers and Production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review structural and architectural drawings, specifications and contract documents to ensure detailing accuracy.
- Ensure all detailing complies with AISC standards, project specifications and fabrication requirements.
- Resolve design conflicts and respond to RFIs while coordinating with clients, engineers and contractors.
- Monitor detailing schedules, workloads and project milestones to ensure on-time delivery.
- Support material procurement by producing accurate bills of materials and CNC data.
- Implement and maintain detailing standards, quality procedures and best practices across the department.
- Mentor and develop detailing staff while driving continuous process improvements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, engineers, general contractors and internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- 7 years of structural steel detailing experience
- Previous experience leading a detailing team or department
- Extensive experience using Tekla Structures
- Strong knowledge of commercial structural steel fabrication and erection.
- Experience delivering large commercial projects, mission-critical facilities or data centers
- Thorough understanding of AISC standards and fabrication processes.
