Seeking a dependable and reliable employee to fill immediate full-time opening for a Melter in a cast iron foundry. Must be able to work from 6:00 am – 4:30 pm with overtime when needed. Position: Melter
Starting Rate: $16.00 or more with experience
Company Description: We are a cast iron foundry—we use tooling to make sand molds that we fill with liquid iron. The parts we make cover a wide variety of industries including power generation, material handling, and even replica parts for museums. The parts we make move the world and we believe our team represents the best of West Michigan’s manufacturing. This position is for melting. Melters a responsible for tending the furnaces, adding material to them, and then pouring the iron into molds when ready.
Job Type: Full-Time, Monday-Thursday 6:00-4:30, overtime on Friday as needed
Job Duties:
Melters are responsible for melting and pouring molten iron into molds. Melters combine raw steel, alloys, and remelt to create the appropriate type of iron for a specific part, as directed by the Melt Supervisor and the daily schedule. Individual must have an eye for detail and ensure that every heat of iron is made to specification and poured correctly. Job requires working at high temperatures, lifting, shoveling, climbing ladders, and other physical work as well as operating a forklift.
Individual will also assist on the melt floor, shifting weights, refilling raw materials bins in the department, and moving molds or completed raw castings with a forklift as necessary. Individual is responsible for ensuring that their area is kept clean and organized every day. General labor as required. Will train as required.

Qualification Requirements:
- Manufacturing experience needed
- Forklift operation experience a plus
- Ability to follow instructions
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must have an eye for detail
- Must have dependable transportation
- High school diploma or GED necessary
Experience:
- General labor: 1 year (Preferred)
- General labor and foundry skills: 1 year (Preferred)
