SUMMARY- JOB DESCRIPTION
The Recycle Yard Support Laborer coordinates the separation, organization and pick-up of E-Waste, batteries, fluorescent bulbs and mattresses collected at the Recycle Yard. Responsible for other miscellaneous duties assigned by the department supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Separate electronics into various types and keep track of CRT, flat screen and CPU’s and place into the correct gaylord boxes, stack and place in trailer ensuring safe loads.
- Recover material from sort line bins, electronics and batteries using forklift at various locations and empty
- Organize, label, weigh and count batteries on pallet and prepare for delivery.
- Separate mattresses by size to maximize space in trailer, count and prepare for transport and discard the soiled and contaminated mattresses.
- Assist in scale house as needed throughout operating hours.
- Assist with pulling recoverable bulky items brought in by Special Services trucks.
- Assist in Traffic Control as needed by guiding customers and MarBorg trucks into a safe dumping area while always ensuring a safe and smooth flow of traffic.
- Assist with the Refrigerant Recovery process by charging lines to see if any refrigerant will be extracted and measure the liquid that is removed.
- Service local accounts bins (Mission Linen, City Yard, Rubble Yard) daily.
- Remove all copper, wire, oil from motors from refrigerators and separate from metal bin and place refrigerators in white goods metal pile.
- Responsible on the organization and cleanliness of the E-Waste, Mattress and Refrigerant Recovery areas along with other various locations as assigned.
- Completes special projects as may be assigned and prioritized by the on-site manager.
- Comply with OSHA regulations when using hazardous chemicals on company premises; comply with company safety regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
