What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marblehead District On-Call Substitutes position at Marblehead Public-Substitutes?
The Marblehead Public Schools are currently seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Substitute Teacher, grades K-12 for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Hours are around 7:45am/8:00am to 2:15pm/2:30pm depending on grade level and school.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to pick up Substitute days as available. Simply sign up for the day via our online system. This position will report directly to the school principal(s) and or an appointed designee.
POSITION GOAL:
The substitute teacher is the temporary primary instructional delivery person in the classroom. Student achievement and growth are primarily dependent on the work and efforts of the substitute teacher. The position is demanding, varied and complex. The substitute teacher must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be well trained in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
*Flexibility with providing coverage in multiple classrooms throughout the school day as requested by building principal(s)
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelors or higher degree preferred
•Teaching experience preferred
•Massachusetts DESE license preferred
