- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Upsell products and promote store promotions or special offers to enhance sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to engage customers and showcase merchandise features
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stock checks and participating in periodic stock replenishment
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Previous supervising or team-leading experience in a retail or grocery store setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customers effectively
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally over the phone
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cashiering and retail math tasks
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos to engage customers effectively
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, retail sales techniques, and upselling strategies
