Position Overview:
MPC has an opportunity for a Senior Business Planning and Analysis Analyst! The role is responsible for capturing, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting financial and operational data in support of multiple organizations. This position will have specific assignments in helping BP&A to advance our Power BI and AI training programs in support of our goal to build a high-performing team. This Senior Analyst will help build a training program that will help everyone within the BP&A organization to develop unique skills that will enable our shift to an analytical mindset. The Senior Analyst will regularly interface with senior leaders, managers and staff as well as personnel in the BP&A and Accounting organizations. This role will report to the Corporate BP&A Director and be based in Findlay, OH.

The Senior Analyst will regularly interface with senior leaders, managers and staff as well as personnel in the BP&A and Accounting organizations. This role will report to the Corporate BP&A Director and be based in Findlay, OH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts detailed business unit commercial operational and financial analysis, identifying significant trends and discrepancies in performance, using various tools to generate insights that inform and guide business decisions.
- Assists in the development and presentation of divisional business plans, forecasts, results and expense budgets, working closely with business unit contacts.
- Develops advanced financial models to support monitoring of KPIs and performance metrics providing real-time analytics and insights into performance versus expectations. This may include some scenario, sensitivity, and/or variance analyses.
- Collaborates and interfaces with Business Unit divisional leadership and participates in meetings to discuss analysis and/or analytical needs to support ongoing improvement.
- Partner cross‑functionally with IT and Learning & Development to design, develop, and implement scalable learning curricula.
- Actively seeks and implements ways to enhance processes, systems, or automation to provide more time for in-depth analysis and commentary.
- Develops training for and drives AI innovation throughout the BP&A organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline required.
- Six (6) years in Accounting, Finance, Commercial, or related field.
- Proficiency with analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau (e.g., building dashboards, optimizing existing ones) is highly preferred.
- AI skills (e.g., prompt engineering, automation, building agents, workflows & pipelines) is highly preferred.
- SAP, Business Warehouse, and Right-Angle experience
- Oil and Gas, Downstream or Energy experience
- Experience with creation of and presentation to senior leaders
