Position Summary

The role is responsible for forecasting, scheduling and balancing MPLX gathering & processing systems with producers, shippers, and interstate pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Nominates, confirms and schedules pipeline movements through use of propriety and third-party scheduling systems.
- Work to minimize producer/shipper imbalances on gathering & processing systems and OBA imbalances on interstate pipelines on a daily basis.
- Coordinates closely with plant operations, producers and pipelines to ensure accurate inlet and residue flows and ensure system balance.
- Provides and communicates allocations.
- Retrieve, compile, input, and monitor commodity movements daily into complex excel spreadsheets and the Quorum Gas Scheduling system.
- Ensure accurate reporting of allocation and imbalance information to internal and external customers.
- Develops subject matter expertise on all logistics-based scheduling systems and plans.
- Work closely with field and plant operators.
- Work closely with producers, shippers, and interstate pipeline representatives.
- Work closely with business development and traders in executing, implementing, and monitoring contracts to ensure compliance and penalty avoidance.
- Be adaptable, decisive, detail oriented, have strong problem solving/analytical skills and strive for process improvement.
- Initiates and coordinates movements independently through Marathon’s distribution channels based on a given plan.
- Identifies and communicates constraints and begins to identify optimization opportunities throughout the whole system.
- Gains knowledge of the costs of transportation associated with the movements of the system. Learns the regional supply picture.
- Additional reporting duties as needed.
Scheduler:
- Bachelor’s degree required or five (5) years of scheduling experience in lieu.
- Two (2) or more years of industry-related experience
Scheduler Senior:
- Bachelor’s degree required or five (5) years of scheduling experience in lieu.
- Four (4) or more years of industry-related experience
Preferred:
- Self starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for meeting deadlines and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data, identify trends, solve problems, and support sound decision-making.
- Critically think and problem-solve when managing complex processes and resolving operational issues.
- Quickly adapt to evolving conditions and goals to support the department’s processes and goals.
