What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - Booneville, MS position at Marathon Cheese Corporation?
We are currently seeking Material Handlers. Starting pay rate is $19 per hour. Shift differential is an additional $1.00 per hour for 2nd Shift and $1.50 per hour for 3rd Shift.
Core Hours
1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. *Saturday hours are generally 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. *Saturday hours are generally 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
3rd Shift: Monday - Friday, 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. *Saturday hours are 6:00 pm to 12:00 am or until sanitation is complete.
***Please note we have a Monday night start for 3rd Shift***
Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs.
Duties
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred . Education beyond High School would be a plus. Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would also be a plus. Forklift experience is desirable.
Working Conditions
Work inside a clean manufacturing environment. Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.

Duties
- Opening product, feeding cheese onto state of the art production line for wrapping and packaging, and adjusting cutting equipment.
- Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF and established safety rules and regulations.
- Moving pallets, basic cleanup/sweeping and assisting other positions as needed.
- Ability to pack cheese product into boxes, stack boxes on pallets and inspect packages and boxes for good seals and code dates.
- Understand and utilize box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment.
- Perform sanitation of the work area and equipment as needed.
- Must be able to give and accept constructive criticism and work as a team player.
- Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations
- Responsible for maintaining a professional image with customers, peers, supervisors and the public.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
