Seasonal Stewardship Assistant
Maranatha Farm is looking for individuals with basic agricultural/stewardship experience who are interested in assisting with our land care programs. The Intention of our 2020 start-up farm located in Peapack, NJ is to get back to basics practicing regenerative agriculture and forestry using permaculture principles to restore the local ecosystem to a good state of health.
Essential Responsibilities
- Stewardship program tasks under direction of the Operations Steward:
- Invasive species management (hand removal, string trimming, mowing)
- Conservation grade planting, protecting and watering
- Trail care (chipping, clearing, trimming)
- General farm maintenance and support for agricultural/livestock teams
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by owner
Required Skills, Physical Qualifications and Competencies:
- Prior experience working outdoor conditions
- Knowledge of NJ invasive plant species a plus
- Ability to safely operate power equipment(utility vehicles, lawnmowers, string/brush trimmers)
- Properly use and maintain shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, hand shears, and loppers
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all times
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to repeatedly and safely lift 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions
- U.S. Drivers License
Compensation Package:
- Available May 4th - October 30th 2026
- Salary: Commensurate with experience ($17-$21 per hour)
- Paid Time Off (rate of one 1 hour per 30 hours of service)
- Housing is not provided with this position
