Maragas Winery, 15523 SW Hwy 97, Culver, OR 97734. We are located approximately 10 minutes north of Redmond, Oregon (in Central Oregon)
JOB DESCRIPTION
- SUMMARY: Winery tasting area wine sales, wine-beverage-food service and customer service; use of computer for tracking sales, customer preferences, etc; stocking, packaging and shipping wine; maintaining tasting area.
- part time (2 to 3 days per week) or full time (4 to 5 days per week) depending on experience.
- Create a memorable wine and customer service experience while promoting wine sales, enlisting new club members and providing our winery information to customers.
- Collect names and email addresses for future contact.
- Assist with events.
- Manage closing and securing of the venue concluding events.
- Update and expand knowledge of our winery
- Conduct wine tastings
- Learn POS systems and perform wine and merchandise transactions.
- Accountable for tracking wine and retail inventory.
- Stock supplies and maintain displays in retail areas.

INITIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 21 years of age
- Availability. Schedules vary according to the position. In general, approximately 11am to 5pm. We do not work on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and the days of some other holidays. We do, however, work the seasons surrounding these holidays. With notice, there is some flexibility.
- Enthusiasm for wine and interest in expanding knowledge
- Service driven, with good customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, positive and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors and staff. We are not a bar environment, so we keep our interactions with our customers focused on a love for wine and the quality foods and items we offer at our winery
- Ability to multi-task and work in an environment that fluctuates from slow paced to fast paced
- Capability to work independently
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures
- Must hold a valid driver's license, OLCC server’s permit and Food Handler’s permit
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift and carry weights of up to 40 pounds (roughly a case of wine) at varying frequencies
- Ability to operate various types of equipment, including but not limited to, hand-trucks (dolly), dishwashers, and the like.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks
- Ability to stand for long periods of time

- Competitive compensation wage and bonus program for wine sales and wine club sign-ups, and generous employee discounts. Additionally, these are tipped positions.
