About the Role:

As a Cashier, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. Your role is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction by accurately processing transactions and handling payments with integrity. You will also contribute to the overall store environment by performing light janitorial duties and assisting with inventory management when necessary. Flexibility in scheduling will allow you to support the team during peak hours and special events. Ultimately, your efforts will help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business and positive customer interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail customer service.
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry heavy weights up to 50 pounds safely.
• Strong communication skills and a professional phone manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operations.
• Familiarity with janitorial duties and maintaining cleanliness in a retail environment.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment while ensuring proper change is given and transactions are recorded correctly.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
• Perform janitorial duties such as cleaning checkout areas and maintaining an organized workspace to ensure a pleasant shopping environment.
• Assist with lifting and carrying heavy items as needed to support stock replenishment and store organization.
• Manage phone etiquette by answering calls professionally and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to meet the operational needs of the store.
