Qualifications:
- Meet Department of Education Certification (PK-3 or PK-6th grade Regular Ed)
- Reading Endorsement preferred or willingness to get reading endorsement
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teaching teams
- Demonstrated understanding of Iowa Core Standards & Iowa Early Learning Standards
- Demonstrated understanding of an elementary numeracy program
- Demonstrated understanding of technology use in second grade
- Experience working with student data for decision making
- Understanding of knowledge around FAST and Iowa Tier and researched based intervention strategies for literacy and math.
- Has a working knowledge of strategies to meet the Building Initiatives (PLC/Leader in Me/CTC Framework)

Duties:
- Classroom teachers will develop lessons that include direct instruction, guided practice, collaborative learning, and independent practice through a formative assessment environment. Classroom teachers are required to develop a flexible and differentiated learning environment to support the learning and personal growth of all students. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for upper elementary grades. Teachers will communicate with parents and supervisors about the educational and behavioral needs of individual children.
