Position Description:
Works with IT staff and technology vendors to provide internal and external customers maximum systems availability. This role supports a primarily on-premise infrastructure and is responsible for maintaining both network performance and security posture across the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Install, configure, and maintain server and storage systems in a virtualized on-prem environment (VMware)
- Support and maintain Exchange (on-premise) and Active Directory environments
- Install, configure, maintain, and manage security environment including firewalls (Level Blue), MFA, MTDR, endpoint security, and cloud-based security tools (e.g., Cloudflare, Cloud Point Security)
- Manage and renew security certificates across systems and applications to ensure compliance and uninterrupted service
- Manage network infrastructure including DNS, geo-fencing, VPNs, and failover technologies to optimize performance and security
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues; work with carriers on network changes, outages, and implementations
- Identify and resolve problems that arise with computer networks and systems
- Apply updates, patches, and security fixes in a timely manner
- Manage and support the Security Awareness program
- Maintain and improve system and network monitoring, control, and performance
- Identify technology trends by attending conferences and seminars to maintain a strong knowledge base
- Work closely with other members of the Information Systems & Technology staff
- Perform other duties as requested and within areas of expertise
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in computer/information technology or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in a Network/Security Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange (on-prem)
- Proven hands-on experience in networking and security administration
- Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, DNS, geo-fencing, and network security controls
- Experience with VMware virtualization (experience with Hyper-V or migrations/conversions is a plus)
- Familiarity with cloud-based security platforms (e.g., Cloudflare, cloud endpoint security tools)
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of IT environments
- Ability to set up and configure server hardware
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic
