What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aerospace Cost Estimator position at MAPP Technologies, LLC?
- Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to develop precise cost estimates.
- Create and maintain detailed costing models that capture labor, materials, outside vendor services, tooling, setup, cycle times, and overhead.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to validate assumptions and ensure manufacturability.
- Prepare clear and accurate cost breakdowns for internal review and decision-making.
- Continually improving the estimating process by identifying cost drivers and opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness.
- Maintain and update historical cost databases to support future quoting and forecasting.
- Support leadership and sales teams in customer discussions with data-driven cost justifications.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, special processes, and customer requirements in all cost estimates.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience in aerospace CNC machining/manufacturing.
- 3 years of experience in cost estimating, manufacturing engineering, CNC machining, or related aerospace role.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, aerospace materials, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process specifications.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and estimating tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 applications, and skilled in Excel.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing background with exposure to special processes.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Must possess US Citizenship
