Maplewood Nursing Home located in Westmoreland NH is has an immediate opening for a Cook Position. We are looking for an individual who is skilled, positive, and team-oriented Cook to join our kitchen team! 40 hours a week including every other weekend from 4:30am - 12:30pm

Pay Rate: $21.47 with shift / weekend differentials when worked

General Responsibilities include:

• Maintains high standards of sanitation in food handling, storage, and the work environment.
• Receives reports on meals to be served for normal and special diets to residents.
• Sees that supplies are obtained from storage areas prior to meal production. Uses only approved substitutions.
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved.
• May check incoming merchandise or direct storage activities.
• May direct and assist in daily and scheduled cleaning duties of the department. Sees that department complies with established sanitary standards.
• Responsible for care and use of supplies and equipment. Sees that department is in compliance with established sanitation standards and personal hygiene of personnel.

Skills Required:

• Duties require knowledge of food preparation and distribution equivalent to completion of a high school diploma and up to one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must maintain a ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.
• Must wear appropriate washable uniforms and a hairnet.
• Knowledge of proper hygiene and sanitation techniques for food preparation and distribution.
• Knowledge of safe food handling.
• Ability to assist with the preparation and cooking of a variety of foods in large quantities. Ability to follow oral and written directions.
