- Job Title: Cafeteria Supervisor
Maplewood Career Center seeks a qualified individual to oversee its food service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise food service staff, including menu planning, purchasing, food production, and record keeping.
- Analyze data to improve food service operations and develop strategies for growth.
- Market the program to maximize profits and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Manage cost-control programs and prepare revenue/expense projections.
- Plan, procure, and manage supplemental service contracts related to assigned programs.
- Ensure compliance with USDA child nutrition guidelines and maintain quality control through standardized recipes.
- Process applications and records for free and reduced-cost lunch programs and prepare/make bank deposits.
- Assist with special district events and interact positively with staff, students, and parents.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary food service training or work experience is desirable.
- Meets all mandated health requirements and has a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Effective active listening skills, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Acknowledges personal accountability for decisions and conduct.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues.
- Occasional requirement to travel, both daily and overnight.
- Evening/weekend/summer work.
- Regular requirements to lift, climb, and reach.
Starting Wage: $45,000/yr or higher based on experience.
