What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slitter position at Maples Industries, Inc.?
To slit coated rugs out of the coater according to specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.
- Read specification sheets.
- Able to prepare slitter knives, sharpen and adjust to specifications.
- Able to adjust slitter rollers with speed controls.
- Able to slit rugs, keeping edges smooth and in line.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by job and management.
Education and/or Experience:
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and speak English.
- Ability to perform simple mathematic calculations quickly.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand for a long period of time and is required to bend, twist, and stoop/kneel.
- The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
- The environment is heated and cooled, but is exposed to heat and cold as influenced by seasonal temperature extremes.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
