Responsibilities

- Collaborate with nursing staff and care teams to monitor residents’ progress, document participation, and adjust programs to meet individual needs effectively.
- Plan special events and community outings that foster socialization and stimulate memory recall while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Provide emotional support through active listening, companionship, and encouragement to enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced mix of structured programming and free time for residents.
- Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, resident participation, and behavioral responses to inform ongoing care plans.
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes specializing in senior care or memory care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and recreational therapy techniques is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative programs that promote cognitive engagement and social interaction among older adults with disabilities or memory impairments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting quickly to changing resident needs or program requirements.
- Compassionate approach with a focus on aging issues counseling and holistic senior care practices.
- Familiarity with long-term care regulations and home & community care standards is a plus.
