Snapshot Of a Day-in-the-Life
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices following all sanitation and process procedures and guidelines and reference SOP’s where applicable.
- Supervising approximately 20 hourly team members.
- Responsible for monitoring all facility cleaning and sanitizing production machinery, equipment and small-wares, floors, walls and public areas.
- Facilitating required trainings .
- Managing hourly employee’s timecards in company time management system.
- Participating in department recruiting and existing process.
- Conducting employee relation matter related investigation and delivering disciplinary actions/results upon conclusion.
- Maintaining records and preparing reports for Sanitation Manager.
- Coordinating activities with another department as needed.
- Evaluating performance of employees under his/her direct supervision.
- Monitoring use of chemicals, including conducting inventory count.
- Demonstrating commitment to food safety and continuous improvement.
- Participating in sanitation audits.
- Lead and direct Janitors ensuring that all non-production areas are properly cleaned and monitored.
- Understanding cleaning time frequencies and hold accountable for such and create new best practices.
- Create and modify procedures where needed.
- Monitor building during overnight hours and cooler temps.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Minimum 3 years of sanitation experience, preferably in the food manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of cleaning systems (CIP, COP) and chemical cleaning training
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, WHMIS, First Aid, Lock/Tag Out, Health and Safety Regulations, and applicable requisites
- Able to work in cold, hot, humid or wet manufacturing environment, work with chemicals and stand/walk for extensive period of time.
- Ability to use a pallet jack or scissor lift to help support daily and non-daily duties.
