What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Shift position at Maple Leaf Farms?
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery, including belts, chains, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, 480V/120V electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for repair
- Read and interpret mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics
- Maintain accurate CMMS records of maintenance activities
- Communicate effectively with production teams and maintenance leadership
- Research and order parts as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies (OSHA, USDA, GMP, HAACP)
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong mechanical maintenance knowledge (required)
- Electrical troubleshooting skills: PLC experience preferred
- Welding and stainless-steel fabrication (preferred)
- Basic computer literacy (Windows OS, CMMS systems)
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Must be available for overnight 3rd shift work
