Hatchery General Labor - Kansasville WI

Tasks

• Egg Handling: Washing and inspecting eggs, candling eggs, transferring eggs
• Duck Handling: inspection of birds being shipped, separate culls, monitor wellbeing of the birds, and inspection of birds being shipped
• Traying up incubator sets
• Hatch pull and duck servicing
• Production cleaning of all areas and equipment in the hatchery with proper chemicals and detailed cleaning. Washing of boxes, trays, plastic flats and baskets
• May perform other tasks as determined by the production supervisor.

• Speaking: Talking to others in a professional and courteous manner to convey information.
• The ability to see small details at close range and differentiate color.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects using both hands and good finger dexterity.
• The ability to lift 10 to 50 lbs. and repetitively lift 20 to 25 lbs. above head and below knee.
• The ability to work in hot, cold and or wet environment.
• The ability to use pressure hose and garden hose and work with production cleaning products.
• The ability to climb ladders and work on top of machinery
• The ability to count accurately, up to 100.
• The ability to work hours required, start time may vary when the process requires and working until the process is complete (no set time).

Work Activities

• Lifting trays of eggs and baskets of eggs or ducks to a height of approx. 6 ft. and as low as approx. 8 inches from the ground.
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials, equipment and cleaning equipment.
• Following schematics
• Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as hairnet, beard guard, dust mask, gloves, smocks, aprons, boots and ear & eye protection.
• Work weekends and holidays as needed, usually on a rotation basis.
