Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant will play a key role in both clinical and administrative operations. This position requires an individual who is comfortable performing clinical duties such as blood draws and patient care while also supporting front-office functions including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow.
Required Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification (required)
- Experience preferred but not required
- Proficient in venipuncture and specimen collection
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a steady-paced healthcare environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws accurately and safely
- Obtain and document vital signs and EKG's when needed
- Prepare and room patients for provider visits
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures
- Administer injections and medications as permitted by state regulations
- Process laboratory specimens
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies
- Follow infection control and OSHA guidelines
Administrative Responsibilities
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally and courteously
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
- Check patients in and out
- Verify patient information and update records
- Manage patient messages and communicate with providers as needed
- Handle basic office correspondence and administrative tasks
- Assist with patient faxes
