ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. Training from an accredited trade school, relevant military experience, or proven mechanical experience required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend prints, manuals, diagrams, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be able to troubleshoot, identify issues quickly, and analytically resolve mechanical and PM-related problems.
LEADERSHIP ABILITY: Ability to lead by example, demonstrate proper procedures, address interpersonal issues, train new employees, and assist in coaching team members.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel). Experience with Smart Maintenance (maintenance software) and other internal programs preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, handling, and hearing. Must lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds regularly, including overhead. Must work approximately 9 hours standing daily. Requires full range of vision (near, far, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus).
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise (hearing protection required).
AVAILABILITY: Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as business needs dictate.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with all safety rules and policies.
Accurately complete HACCP / Process Control Reports.
Understand PM-specific procedures and preventative maintenance schedules.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and tool cart.
Follow GMPs as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Lubricate equipment properly and document all PM actions.
Rebuild centrifugal and pneumatic pumps.
Repair and maintain conveying equipment, including wire belt systems.
Complete all paperwork accurately, including PM logs and work orders.
Operate fork trucks and equipment safely.
Monitor spare parts inventory and maintain storage organization.
Repair coding equipment (Marsh coders, Video-jets).
Rebuild valves and cylinders.
Complete general building repairs as needed.
Diagnose and repair bearings, sprockets, shafts, gears, belts, and chains- as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, or Lead- as needed.
Utilize CMM system.
GENERAL PERFORMANCE
Keep equipment running efficiently with a sense of urgency.
Maintain equipment to high performance standards.
Work independently and at a productive pace with minimal supervision.
Continuously improve and upgrade skills as needed.
Collaborate effectively with production and sanitation teams to achieve maximum line performance.
