As a Senior Territory Sales Manager, you will be a key driver of MAPFRE’s growth strategy within the state Maine, shaping market presence and delivering profitable results across a designated territory of independent insurance agencies. This is a high-impact leadership role where you act as a trusted consultant and strategic influencer, providing thought leadership to internal teams and agency partners.

You’ll build and strengthen agency relationships, develop and execute territory business plans, and deliver consultative sales recommendations that expand MAPFRE’s market share. Your ability to mentor and guide Assistant Territory Sales Managers (Asst. TSMs) will help shape the next generation of sales leaders.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Market Strategy: Drive MAPFRE’s market approach and provide thought leadership to internal teams and agency partners.
  • Mentor Future Leaders: Support the development of Asst. TSMs by sharing best practices and fostering professional growth.
  • Build Strong Partnerships: Cultivate productive relationships with agency leadership to influence business strategy and decision-making.
  • Drive Growth: Develop and implement territory business plans, deliver consultative sales recommendations, and manage a full portfolio of independent agencies.
  • Analyze & Act: Assess agency performance, translate insights into actionable strategies, and execute growth initiatives.
  • Present with Impact: Prepare and deliver compelling business reviews and sales presentations.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Underwriting, Marketing, Services, and Claims teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Stay Ahead: Maintain expertise in MAPFRE products, systems, industry trends, and competitor positioning.
  • Leverage Technology: Document agency visits and agreements using Salesforce CRM.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Insurance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Experience & Skills

  • 6–8 years in the Independent Insurance Agency space (or Associate’s Degree plus 8 years).
  • 7 years leading field sales and managing complex agencies.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and execute strategic plans.
  • Recognized thought leader with advanced expertise in agency consulting.
  • Strong consultative approach, analytical skills, and ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable crafting and delivering diverse types of messaging to multiple audiences.
  • 90% travel, with the possibilty of overnight on occasion
  • Must have a valid Maine drivers license


Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at MAPFRE are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Salary Range $100,000 - $130,000, plus Quarterly Variable Compensation Incentive Plan
