If so, MAPFRE USA is looking for a Data Engineer to join our dynamic Data Engineering team. As a Data Engineer, you’ll be part of an agile group delivering value with modern tools and technologies. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and stakeholders, gaining hands-on experience and helping MAPFRE USA on its journey to becoming a data-driven organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and maintaining data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Support the development of scalable data architectures and integration of data sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs.
- Test coded solutions and ensure quality before deployment.
- Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders.
- Apply critical thinking to analysis, planning, and implementation of business initiatives.
- Follow DevOps best practices and Agile methodologies.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 1–3 years of experience in data engineering or relevant internships.
- Working knowledge of:
- Programming: Python, Spark, PySpark
- Workflow & Orchestration: Airflow, Jira
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Snowflake (basic exposure)
- Database Architectures: SQL, NoSQL
- Data Modeling & ETL Tools: Informatica Power Center (exposure preferred)
- Data Query & Transformation: Jupyter notebooks, AWS Athena
- Operating Systems: Linux, MS Windows
- Code IDEs: Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Jupyter notebooks
- Eagerness to learn algorithm analysis and collaborate with Data Scientists.
- Interest in multidimensional modeling and quantitative data storage.
- Curiosity about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning is a plus.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at MAPFRE are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range $100,000 - $160,000
