If so, MAPFRE USA is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our agile Data Engineering team, building sophisticated data products for advanced data consumers. As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll architect and deliver high-impact solutions using modern tools and technologies, work closely with data architects and stakeholders, and help transform MAPFRE USA into a truly data-driven organization.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement scalable, secure data solutions using cloud and big data technologies.
- Lead the design and development of advanced ETL processes and data models.
- Integrate systems and technologies across cloud and on-premise platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline issues, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Continuously monitor system performance and implement improvements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimization within data pipelines.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and code standards.
- Lead delivery of data solutions following SRE and TDD practices.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 6 years of experience in data engineering.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with:
- Programming: Python, PySpark, Spark
- Workflow & Orchestration: Airflow, Jenkins, Terraform, Jira, Bitbucket
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (Athena, EMR Studio), Snowflake
- Database Architectures: SQL, NoSQL, graph databases
- Data Modeling & ETL Tools: Informatica Power Center, multidimensional modeling
- Data Query & Transformation: Jupyter notebooks, AWS Athena
- Operating Systems: Linux, MS Windows
- Code IDEs: Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Jupyter notebooks
- Experience with algorithm analysis and collaborating with Data Scientists.
- Strong understanding of quantitative and fact-based data storage.
- Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning is a plus.
Salary : $140,000 - $171,000
