Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care for unique animals. This role requires a strong understanding of animal behavior and health, as well as the ability to work effectively with both animals and the owners.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including meal prepping and feeding, cleaning and filling waters, etc.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness in indoor animal living areas, as well as mowing/pest control in outdoor areas.
- Maintaining Caretaker work room and feeding facility.
- Plan, prep and administer enrichment almost daily.
- Assist daily play/cuddle time as well as animal introductions.
- Assist with administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Handle animals safely and humanely
- Keep accurate records of animal care activities and health observations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all animals.
Skills
- Reliability, work ethic, attention to detail and patience are high valued qualities.
- Experience with multiple species of animals and hand raising species is preferred.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage various species safely.
- Excellent communication skills to interact and communicate effectively with owners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A compassionate attitude toward animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed.
