Position Summary
The Automotive Sales Consultant is responsible for guiding customers through the vehicle purchase process with professionalism, product knowledge, and exceptional customer service. This role focuses on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and delivering a smooth, transparent buying experience that supports the dealership’s sales goals and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment.
- Listen to customer needs and recommend appropriate vehicles based on lifestyle, budget, and preferences.
- Present and demonstrate new and pre-owned vehicles, highlighting key features, benefits, and value propositions.
- Conduct test drives following all safety protocols.
- Explain financing options, warranties, and add-on products in a clear and compliant manner.
- Follow the complete sales process from lead follow-up, appointment setting, showroom presentation, negotiation, and closing.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, follow-ups, and customer communication.
- Maintain expert-level product knowledge of inventory, OEM programs, incentives, and competitors.
- Collaborate with finance, service, and management teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Achieve monthly sales goals for units sold, CSI (customer satisfaction), and gross profit benchmarks.
- Participate in ongoing training and stay current on manufacturer updates.
- Keep the showroom and vehicle display areas clean, organized, and professional.
Qualifications
- Prior sales or customer service experience preferred; automotive sales experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, email, and basic computer applications.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
