Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations, ensure excellent customer service, and lead a team toward achieving sales and operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of store functions including inventory control, merchandising, and staff development. This role requires a proactive approach to managing store performance, fostering a positive work environment, and maintaining high standards of store presentation and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance to ensure team productivity and engagement
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, ordering, and merchandising to optimize product availability and presentation
- Oversee daily store operations including cash handling, POS transactions, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and budgeting activities
- Conduct employee orientation sessions, training & development programs, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Coordinate purchasing activities to ensure timely stock replenishment while controlling costs
- Monitor store metrics such as retail math, sales management data, and inventory management reports to inform decision-making
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Implement marketing initiatives to promote products and increase store traffic
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a clean, organized shopping environment
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery stores with supervisory responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll administration, bookkeeping, inventory management, POS systems usage, purchasing, supervising staff, retail sales strategies, team management, inventory control, cashiering operations, customer service excellence, shift management, retail math proficiency, sales management techniques, pricing strategies, merchandising & stocking procedures
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in training & development programs and budget management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and engage customers effectively
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are considered an asset for diverse customer interactions
- Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous
- Organizational skills combined with time management expertise to handle multiple priorities efficiently
