Position Summary

The Sr. Accountant is a key member of a small, hands-on accounting team supporting the financial operations of a medical manufacturing company. This position is responsible for performing a broad range of accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end close, accounts payable and receivable support, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, organized accounting professional who can work independently while collaborating closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and other departments. Because this is a small accounting department, the Sr. Accountant will have the opportunity to take ownership of significant accounting processes and contribute to improving the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial operations. This is an on-site role. Reliability and consistency are vital. This role has the potential to grow into a management position for the right candidate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Accounting & Month-End Close

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other recurring and non-recurring entries.
• Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and investigate/resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain accurate and well-supported accounting records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounting activity for unusual or unexpected transactions and communicate issues to management.
