We are seeking a Quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. We follow both lean and 5-S principles in manufacturing and production.
Primary Tasks And Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance, including, but not limited to:
- Promotes quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
- Develops, implements, communicates and maintains a quality plan to bring the Company’s Quality Systems and Policies into compliance and certification of ISO quality system requirements
- Works with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Conducts Audits for external suppliers
- Manage External Suppliers Corrective Actions
- Works effectively with Design and Development team to maintain product supply and help introduce new products.
- Ensures compliance with national and international regulatory and statutory requirements applicable to Wallner products and operation.
- Works with the Operations and Top Management Safety Committees to ensure compliance and implement environmental, health and safety required standards.
- Defines quality procedures and methods in conjunction with operating staff.
- Sets up and maintains controls and documentation procedures.
- Liaise with customers’ auditors to conduct on-site audits and ensure the execution of corrective actions and compliance with customers’ specifications.
- Prepares clear explanatory documents according to customers’ charters
- Monitors performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
- Organize and manage quality assurance function in close cooperation with the customers and with the Company’s management team
- Identifies relevant quality-related training needs and delivers training
- Provides supervision and support to Quality Assurance Supervisors and Quality Control staff in carrying out tests and checks.
- Brings together staff of different disciplines and drives the group to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures
- Manages and maintains the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
- Formulates and manages the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the Quality.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) plus,
- Five or more years of Quality Assurance or Production Management experience, preferably in manufacturing environment.
- Excellent knowledge of General Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 9001:2015, Lean Manufacturing and Engineering
- ISO/TS 16949 and/ or ISO 14001 is a plus
- Strong knowledge of CPK Studies, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis and FMEA’s.
- Strong writing and communication skills required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
- Good analytic and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience overseeing onsite audits.
- The ability to travel, which may include overnight stays.
- Bilingual in Spanish desired, but not required.
- General office environment (50%); production/shop area (50%).
