Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to join our aviation manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting aircraft components, assemblies, and systems to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. This role plays a vital part in ensuring airworthiness, safety, and product integrity throughout the production or maintenance process.
Essential Duty & Responsibilities:
- Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Inspect aircraft parts and assemblies using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, borescopes, and CMMs.
- Interpret and review engineering drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, and specifications (including GD&T).
- Document non-conformances, create inspection reports, and initiate corrective actions using quality management systems (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable aviation industry standards.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) per AS9102 requirements and assist in source inspections when necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve inspection processes.
- Support internal and external audits, including FAA, OEM, or customer quality audits.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and traceability documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor calibration status of inspection tools and ensure they are in proper working order.

Preferred Qualification/Education:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty to a satisfactory standard. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Minimum 2–5 years of quality inspection experience
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, processes, and inspection techniques.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations, AS9100, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Skilled in using standard inspection tools and equipment (manual and digital).
- Experience with quality documentation systems (ERP, QMS, or MES software).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
- Willingness to work in a shop-floor environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
