About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our growing fabrication department. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality parts, enjoys problem-solving, and has experience programming and running CNC equipment. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to support new product development and daily manufacturing needs.
Machine Programming & Setup
Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, SolidWorks, or similar CAM software.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining approach.
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting paths for efficient machining.
Set up CNC mills/lathes, including fixtures, work holding, tooling, offsets, and program uploads.
Machining & Production
Operate CNC equipment to produce high-precision parts within required tolerances.
Perform first-article inspections and make adjustments to ensure accuracy.
Monitor machine operations, identify potential issues, and adjust programs or tooling as needed.
Execute multi-axis machining (3-, 4-, or 5-axis) depending on equipment capability.
Quality & Inspection
Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM tools, and other precision equipment.
Document results and ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
Troubleshoot dimensional issues and recommend corrective actions.
Maintenance & Safety
Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC machines and tooling.
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with engineering, fabrication, and production teams to resolve technical challenges.
Suggest improvements to machining processes, programs, tooling, or workflows to reduce setup time, improve accuracy, and increase throughput.
Provide input on tooling purchases, machining strategies, or design-for-manufacturability opportunities.
Documentation & Workflow
Maintain accurate records of programs, setups, revisions, and production notes.
Update and organize program files and setup sheets for repeat work.
Ensure adherence to production schedules and communicate delays or technical issues.
