COLD MILL PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENTWe are looking for a data-driven Cold or Hot Mill Operations Superintendent with strong leadership skills & Lean Manufacturing experience in a union environment. This role bridges production strategy & frontline operations.KEY QUALIFICATIONS Include:10 years of hands-on leadership experience/Operations Management in a Rolling Mill with proven success leading a union workforce, including grievance management.Hands-on experience/knowledge of metal rolling processes, metal planning, standards-based operations, environmental compliance, and technical knowledge.Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, ISO, and Six Sigma is a plus.Strong problem-solving, analysis and data-driven decision-making skillsAbility to develop and lead a high-performing teamProven ability to foster employee engagement, empowerment & team member growth.Project Management experience (cost and schedule metrics)Experience building business plans and making presentations to upper management.EDUCATION: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES Include:Own day-to-day production execution, staffing, and shift performance across rolling lines, with accountability for safety, quality, throughput, cost, delivery, etc.Lead unionized workforce in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement, including managing employee relations and grievances.Lead the production center with a full ownership mindset, driving accountability, engagement, and operational discipline.Champion a Safety First culture by enforcing EHS policies, conducting audits, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (Daily Management, TPM, 5S, standard work) to improve productivity, uptime, yield, cost, and customer delivery.Manage production scheduling and priorities and customer specifications in coordination with Planning and Maintenance.Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to plan preventive and predictive maintenance, prioritize work orders, and minimize unplanned downtime.Build, develop, and structure a high-performing production team by developing supervisors capable of leading effectively in a union environment.Analyze data, build business plans and present information to upper management.Communicate operational performance, challenges, and improvement plans to plant leadership.Company DescriptionWe are an Executive Recruiting Search Firm, working on behalf of our clients.
