Engineering Technician

WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS

Provide technical support to Engineers during the design and implementation of Manufacturing Processes for a production facility. They possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job/environment and work under the close direction of senior personnel in the departmental area.
 

Our Engineering Technician new hires can make up to:

• $32-35 per hour depending on experience!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Support the development and implementation of process for planned products.
• Support the development and implementation of process improvements for active products - DOE directives.
• Supports the Standardization of process in the given work station, including new product process kickoff.
• Execute Process Engineer Directives in an efficient and timely manner.
• Monitor metrics related to production performance including, but not limited to:
  • SPC monitoring of Key Processes
  • Production throughput
• Maintain working knowledge of existing production equipment capabilities.
• Documents test procedures and results.
• Support Lean and 5S initiatives.
• Serve as a technical resource for production and solves routine technical problems.
• Supports line clearance duties and changeovers, new part setup of machine centers, and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in efforts to reduce the Company’s cost of scrap.
• Be able to support multiple directives set forth by Process Engineer as they present themselves

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years previous machining experience relative to department in setup, changeover, and troubleshooting aptitude
• Comfortable with machine code and hand programming as necessary.
• Must exhibit a solid knowledge of inspection tools and machine tooling applications
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to use basic computer programs such as MS Excel

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work in the following work environment:
  • High noise levels from machinery.
  • Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
  • Breathing fumes, dust, and mist.
  • Skin exposed to oils and cutting fluids.

Must wear personal protection equipment as required including, but not limited to, hearing protection, non-slip shoes, safety glasses. All offers are contingent upon successfully passing a background check and drug screen.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to move and transport 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Must be able to maintain a stationary position for the entire shift.
• Must be able to work shift hours and days as assigned
