About the Job
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner/Janitor to maintain cleanliness and safety in our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in all designated areas.
- Sanitize and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
- Clean and maintain windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to ensure visibility and hygiene.
- Restock restrooms with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
- Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, power washers, and vacuums.
- Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, ensuring sufficient inventory levels and requesting replenishments as required.
- Conduct routine security checks, including locking all doors and windows after cleaning.
- Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or emergencies to maintain employee and guest safety.
- Assist with outdoor maintenance, including sweeping sidewalks, removing debris, and performing winter snow removal, sanding, and salting.
- Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to report and address repair needs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized workspace in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Cleaner or Janitor in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitization.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain cleaning schedules.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and the ability to use PPE effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
