BIM Electrical Engineer Position Overview:
The BIM Electrical Engineer supports the planning, design, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects. This role requires hands-on Revit modeling skills and a solid understanding of electrical building systems. You will work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and design consultants to deliver accurate, clash-free models and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
- Develop electrical models: Create power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems in Revit.
- Resolve model clashes: Coordinate building system models with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare technical drawings: Generate layout drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment layouts.
- Deliver final documents: Assist in creating accurate as-built drawings at project completion.
Project Engineer Support
- Assist project leadership: Support senior engineers and project managers with design reviews and shop drawings.
- Manage procurement data: Create material takeoffs, product data sheets, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct field walks: Verify site conditions, collect field data, and support installation planning.
Coordination & Communication
- Clarify design intent: Communicate technical details clearly with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Track project updates: Attend coordination meetings, log RFI responses, and document meeting minutes.
- Enforce BIM standards: Collaborate with BIM teams to ensure models meet company standards.
Documentation & Quality Control
- Organize project files: Maintain logs, drawing revisions, and formal correspondence.
- Perform QA/QC: Audit electrical drawings and BIM models for accuracy.
- Support project closeout: Assist with commissioning activities and review final test results.
Role Requirement
Exprience & Education
- Industry Experience: 1–5 years of electrical engineering experience within construction or design/build.
- Contractor Familiarity: Experience working for or directly with an electrical contractor is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred; High School Diploma is required.
Technical Skills & Software
- Revit Proficiency: Mastery of 3D modeling, multi-discipline coordination, and creating shop drawings is required.
- BIM Software Suite: Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revizto.
- Codes & Standards: Strong foundational understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and typical electrical design standards.
