This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Denver - Plant Engineering Division. As a Toolmaker Supervisor, you will be administratively and technically responsible for the supervision of work operations performed by the following: Toolmaker Work Leader, Toolmakers, Machinists, and Apprentices.

Qualifications:

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.

You must meet the screen-out element Ability To Lead Or Supervise , normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions. To meet the screen-out element, applicants must have direct experience in a supervisory or lead position leading many personnel and performing administrative duties such as; organizing, assigning and directing work assignments, purchasing raw materials and cutting tools, adjusting schedules to changing priorities to meet objectives, evaluating work performance, and working with budgets. In addition, you must also obtain an average score of two (2) for the following elements for this position as addressed through the online question in order to be considered minimally qualified. Your application will be evaluated in the following areas: Ability To Lead Or Supervise(screen-out), Operation of Machine Tools, Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic), Ability To Use Shop Drawings, Ability To Use Hand Tools for Machine Shop, and Knowledge of Metals.

Responsibilities:

As a Toolmaker Supervisor, you will:
  • Plan and schedule work, sequence of operations, manpower, equipment, materials, and tools on a day-to-day, project-by-project, and month-to-month basis for the overall use of subordinate personnel.
  • Explain work requirements, methods and procedures to subordinates; advises and counsels workers on how to improve performance and explains new work techniques.
  • Identify and ensures work unit goals are aligned with United States Mint strategic goals.
  • Foster a safe working environment.
