What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Paralegal position at Manuel Diaz Law Firm PC?
Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC. is looking for a self-motivated Bilingual (Spanish) Paralegal to join the Family Unit. The Paralegal will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness
- Handle communication with clients, witnesses etc.
- Manage client interaction to facilitate communication.
- Locate and develop relevant case information
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Assist team in gathering documents from clients
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Maintain contact lists
- Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars
- Translations (In-office and Out-of-Office)
- Draft basic forms (waiver of service, notice of hearings, request for citation, etc.)
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; Adobe Acrobat)
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
- 3 or more years’ experience as a legal assistant (preferred)
- experience with divorces, SAPCR's, custody, child support, modification and enforcement matters (preferred)
HOURLY PAY: Based on applicant’s years of relevant experience.
