Manuel Diaz Law Firm, PC. is a multi-practice law firm dedicated to guiding and empowering our community through exceptional legal services. We are seeking a self-motivated, bilingual (English/Spanish) Paralegal to join our Family Law Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Paralegal will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney. Other responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and enhance office efficiency.
- Handle communications with clients, witnesses, and other parties.
- Proactively maintain regular communication with clients to build trust and provide timely updates.
- Locate, organize, and develop relevant case information.
- Prepare, file, and maintain legal documents and correspondence.
- Assist with obtaining and organizing documents from clients
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars
- Translations (In-office and Out-of-Office)
- Draft Waiver of Service, Pleadings, Motions, Orders, Rule 11 Agreements, Correspondence, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Family Paralegal Supervisor, Associate Attorney, Managing Attorney for the Family Department, or the Chief Legal Officer.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; Adobe Acrobat)
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
- Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
- Three (3) or more years’ experience as a paralegal or equivalent legal support role (preferred)
- Experience with divorces, SAPCR, custody, child support, modification, and enforcement matters (preferred)
