MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented SCI Security Specialist – II to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.
This role supports Collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities, serving as a senior security specialist under the supervision of the local Special Security Office (SSO). You will help implement local policies and procedures in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Director of National Intelligence (DNI), and Air Force directives to ensure effective and efficient management of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Formulate plans, policies, procedures, and documentation required for SCI protection functions and activities in accordance with DoD 5105.21 Volumes 1-3, ICD 704/5, AFMAN 14-304, AFI 16-1404/06, and AFI 31-501.
- Maintain and update the SCI Billet Structure (SCIBS) for the entire installation and geographically separate operating locations.
- Maintain and update Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) records for 1,000 SCI indoctrinated personnel.
- Review and act upon authorities to indoctrinate SCI personnel, including conducting personnel screening interviews and executing indoctrination briefings.
- Support the SSO in maintaining accreditation for SCI Facilities (SCIFs) and alarm systems in accordance with ICD 705. Serve as the Alternate Information Systems Security Manager (Alt ISSM) to assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of the formal Information System (IS) security program.
- Provide continuous security training and guidance regarding local procedures, OPSEC, Communications Security (COMSEC), and classified material handling. Must be deeply familiar with federal security policies, manuals, and appropriate ICDs, JAFANs, and DoD Manuals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; an additional 4 years of related experience might be considered for a degree
- 7 years of related experience with SCI
- Must be deeply familiar with federal security policies, manuals, and appropriate ICDs, JAFANs, and DoD Manuals.
- Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 and Information Assurance Manager Level 1 within 6 months of hire (e.g., Security CE).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative while requiring minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Prior experience managing Security Information File (SIF) Programs and coordinating with Foreign Disclosure Officers (FDO).
Clearance Requirements
- An active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility.
- Must possess a willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.
Physical Requirements
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time in closed-area offices.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside and outside of the office to access files, cabinets, and safes.
- Must be willing to travel within the organizational Area of Responsibility (AOR), which could be extensive and will include both air and ground transportation.
