Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an itinerant, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher located in Mansfield, TX. The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering tailored lesson plans, providing direct instruction, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Additional responsibilities include adapting curriculum to meet diverse learner needs, collaborating with families, staff, and specialists, using assistive technologies for communication, and monitoring student progress to ensure academic and personal development goals are met.
Qualifications
- Skills in Lesson Planning and creating customized educational content for diverse learning needs
- Expertise in Education and Teaching practices for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong Communication skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues effectively
- Experience in Training and mentoring students to foster their personal and academic growth
- Proficiency in using assistive technologies and sign language (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
