Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Head Baker based in Palo Alto, CA. The Head Baker will oversee the day-to-day production of artisanal baked goods, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to recipes and techniques. Responsibilities include managing the baking team, training staff, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the baking facilities, coordinating production schedules, and ordering supplies as needed. The Head Baker will also collaborate with leadership to develop new recipes and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in artisanal bread baking techniques, including mixing, shaping, and scoring dough
- Experience with managing and leading a team in a fast-paced kitchen or bakery environment
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to develop new recipes and innovate while maintaining high-quality standards
- Exceptional time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience with scheduling and inventory management is a plus
- Passion for baking and commitment to delivering a superior customer experience
- Formal culinary or baking education is preferred but not required
