Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Our client, an industry leader in mining, water resources, and hydropower sectors, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting project teams across various geotechnical projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title:Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Location:Tucson, Arizona

Pay Range:$120,000 - $180,000

What's the Job?

• Lead and review geotechnical site investigation and laboratory testing programs, ensuring quality and accuracy of data collection and analysis.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and develop designs for project components such as dams, foundations, and earthworks.
• Interpret in-situ data and laboratory results to determine soil and rock properties relevant to project design and safety.
• Prepare clear, concise technical reports, letters, and presentations for clients and project teams.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall project planning and execution.
  
  

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree in geotechnical engineering preferred.
• 10 years of experience in design and construction of mining and tailings facilities or similar projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and slope stability programs such as GeoStudio and RocScience; familiarity with gINT, FLAC, PLAXIS, and Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior staff and manage project teams effectively.
