We are looking for a Controls Engineer to support our manufacturing client’s Auburn, IN operations. This role will assist in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining control systems and drive technologies under the guidance of senior engineers. The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and a strong interest in industrial automation.

- Assist in programming and configuring Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs for compounding equipment. Will write and edit code.
- PLC Brand - Allen Bradley (software - plc5, plc500, rslogix5000, studio5000)
- HMI Brand - Allen Bradley (software - panel builder 32, FactoryTalk View Studio, Studio 5000 view designer)
- Support troubleshooting of control systems, drives, and instrumentation to reduce downtime.
- Help maintain documentation of control programs and wiring diagrams.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on equipment installations and process improvements.
- Learn and apply safety standards and company policies in all tasks.
- Assist with capital spending projects and implementations
- Work with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects
- Support and train maintenance technicians
- Support TPOC, Gemba and 5S programs
- This role will be responsible for working on an on-call rotation during nights and weekends.
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, electrical engineering, automation, or mechatronics. Will consider Associates degree as well.
- Ideally, 3-7 years’ controls-related experience in manufacturing environment but will consider less, such as internship involving PLC programming and industrial automation.
- Prefer familiarity with Allen-Bradley platforms
- Ideally, exposure to VFDs, servo drives, and motion control systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics and industrial networks
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated competency in basic use of hand tools, including multimeters
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
