The MP&L (Materials, Planning, and Logistics) Manager at MANN HUMMEL is responsible for overseeing the seamless flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain, from procurement and production planning to logistics and delivery. The role requires a strategic leader who can optimize processes, manage budgets, and ensure alignment across departments to meet the company's operational goals.
Main Tasks
- Oversee material procurement, inventory, storage, and distribution to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery, quality, and continuity while preventing shortages and excess inventory.
- Develop and manage production plans aligned with customer demand and business objectives.
- Partner with production teams to execute schedules, resolve disruptions, and continuously adjust plans to improve efficiency and performance.
- Direct inbound and outbound logistics, optimizing transportation costs, lead times, and service levels.
- Ensure transportation and distribution activities comply with applicable regulations and standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop the materials, planning, and logistics team to drive high performance and collaboration.
- Promote continuous improvement, professional development, and effective cross-functional collaboration across the supply chain.
- Identify and implement process improvements using data-driven insights to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Own the MP&L budget, driving cost-control and savings initiatives while maintaining service and operational performance.
Your Profile
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certifications is preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 year material planning and logistics management experience
- Extensive experience in materials management, production planning, and logistics, preferably in the manufacturing or automotive industries.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex supply chains.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to materials and logistics.
