Assistant Director of Community Programs
Manlius Pebble Hill School (MPH) seeks a collaborative and service-oriented individual to join its Community Programs Team. MPH, the only PreK - grade 12 independent school in Central New York, is a non-sectarian, coeducational day school, founded in 1869. MPH marked its 150th anniversary in 2019.
The Assistant Director will report to and support the Director of Community Programs to ensure that all auxiliary programs operate smoothly, together with assisting in the implementation of new programs to increase the school’s presence in the community and support the school’s mission
Primary Job Responsibilities include:
Oversight of the Driver Education Program, including registering students, coordination with the Department of Motor Vehicles and attending to vehicle maintenance.
Supporting Director in operation of Summer Camp Program to create a safe and fun environment for students in the summer. Responsibilities include participating in new hire interviews, purchasing supplies, oversight of camp attendance, and space set-up and teardown.
Oversight of After-School Programming which includes Extended Day for primary grades, After Hours for middle schoolers, as well as after-school clubs.
Support Director with upkeep of school-owned vehicles by monitoring vehicle inspections and mileage and assisting with transport for vehicle maintenance. Collect gas receipts for all vehicles and reconcile gas credit card.
Oversight of Online Program Management by creating classes and sessions in “Ultra Camp” (web-based registration site) for online registration. Assist clients with registration processes, billing and payment-plan setup for all programs timely communication with registrants, and payment collection for patrons with past-due balances.
Additional Essential Responsibilities: Assist the Director of Community Programs with new or reoccurring tasks; establish and maintain robust lines of communication with Community Programs Director; participate in various school events and represent MPH at various locations as necessary; communicate with Buildings & Grounds to ensure classroom setup for courses; and attend meetings with Community Programs Director and Summer Day Camp Director. The Assistant Director is also responsible for oversight of programs in the Director’s absence.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field.; background in program or event management a plus; proficiency in Microsoft office applications; knowledge of Ultra Camp and Blackbaud a plus; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills and ability to manage complex logistics; ability to work independently – as well as collaborate as a thoughtful and enthusiastic member of a team; ability to be creative, set goals, develop strategies, determine priorities, meet deadlines, and carry out multiple tasks with attention to detail; and ability to adjust weekly hours to meet program staffing needs. Must hold current Driver’s License.
