Mankiewicz Coatings LLC is growing, and we are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable Purchasing Associate to join our team. This full-time, onsite position in Charleston, SC.
Tasks/Activities:
- Plan and purchase raw materials, packaging, and indirect supplies to support production and business operations.
- Create and manage purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier records using SAP and Onventis.
- Coordinate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery schedules, documentation, and resolve supply issues.
- Monitor inventory needs and supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective purchasing.
- Review and reconcile invoices, pricing, and purchasing data for accuracy.
- Maintain purchasing master data, contracts, and supplier information.
- Collaborate with Production, Logistics, Quality, R&D, and Accounting to support operational needs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate alternative suppliers, and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare purchasing reports and key performance metrics for management.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Experience with SAP software (preferred).
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint).
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
- Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.
- This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
